Cookie preferences
Last updated August 12, 2026. This is our own document, written by the operator of BroomDesk. It is not legal advice from a law firm, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own business.
The short version
- This page changes what this site is allowed to put on your device. It works whether or not you were ever shown the banner.
- Our page-view analytics is cookieless. It stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you, so it is not one of the switches below and runs for everyone.
- We run no advertising or tracking pixels today. If we ever add one, it loads only when you switch marketing on here.
- Your answer is one cookie on this device, kept for 12 months. We keep no copy of it on our servers.
The summary is here to be read. The full text below is what applies.
What this browser has chosen
You have not answered on this device yet. Nothing optional is loading.
We could not tell which country this visit comes from, so we treat it like the EEA and the UK and show the banner. The banner shows until you answer.
Change it
Saving writes one first-party cookie named bd_cookie_choice holding those two switches and the date you set them. It does not identify you, it is not sent to anyone else, and we do not store a copy against your account, if you have one. Clearing cookies in your browser clears it, and we ask again. The form works with JavaScript switched off.
Analytics, in plain words
We use Plausible for page counts: how many people read a page, and which site sent them. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and builds no profile of you across sites, which is why it runs for every visitor and is not one of the switches above. If we ever replace it with something that does store data on your device, it moves behind the analytics switch first and this page says so on the same day.
The full list
Every cookie this site can set, what it is for and how long it lasts, is on the cookie policy page. How we handle personal data generally is in the privacy policy.
