Terms of service

Last updated August 12, 2026. This is our own document, written by the operator of BroomDesk. It is not legal advice from a law firm, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own business.

The short version

  • You get a 14 day trial with full Pro features. No card is asked for at signup and nothing is ever charged automatically. To keep going you pick a plan in billing settings and pay through Stripe checkout, which carries your remaining trial days across so you are not charged twice for them.
  • The price you sign up at never goes up while you stay subscribed. That is a promise we are bound by, not a marketing line.
  • Your first payment on any plan has a 30 day money-back guarantee.
  • Your data is yours. Cancel and your account stays readable for at least 90 days so you can get everything out. We delete it when you ask, within 30 days of the request. Nothing deletes itself on a timer today.
  • When you text your clients, you are the sender. You need their consent, and US law puts real money on getting that wrong: $500 to $1,500 per message. If someone sues over your consent practices, that is on you, not on us.
  • Money your clients pay you goes to your own Stripe account. We never hold it.
  • If we break something, what you can recover from us is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.

The summary is here to be read. The full text below is what applies.

1. Who you are contracting with

BroomDesk is operated by Amortoae Petru PFA (CUI 52361814), established in Romania. In this document, "we" and "us" mean that business. "You" means the business or person that opens the account. These terms cover the BroomDesk application, the website at broomdesk.com, the booking and calculator widgets, the client portal and the API.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you accept them for a company, you confirm you are allowed to do that.

2. What the service is

BroomDesk is software for running a cleaning business: a client list, recurring scheduling and dispatch, quoting, invoicing, payments through your own Stripe account, booking widgets for your website, SMS and email automations, a cleaner mobile view, a client portal, payroll calculation, reporting, and on higher plans route optimisation, an AI receptionist, commercial inspections and an API.

We give you the tools. You run the business. We are not a party to the agreements you make with your clients or your workers, we do not employ your cleaners, and nothing the software calculates is professional advice. Payroll figures, tax rates, pricing suggestions and AI drafts are outputs you are responsible for checking.

Some features depend on services we do not control, such as Stripe, Twilio, Google Maps and the Anthropic API. If one of those is down or changes its rules, the feature that depends on it can be affected. We do not promise a specific uptime figure in this version of the terms.

3. Your account

  • You need a working email address and you must keep your details accurate. Password security is your side of the line: use a strong one, do not share logins, and tell us quickly if you think an account has been taken over.
  • Every plan includes unlimited team members. You control who you invite and what role they hold. Anything a person with your organisation's access does counts as done by you.
  • You must be at least 18 and use the service for a business, not as a consumer.
  • Accounts are for one business. Reselling access, or running other businesses' operations through your account without a separate agreement with us, is not permitted.

4. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy is part of these terms. It covers messaging consent, prohibited content, platform integrity and lawful operation. Breaking it is breaking this agreement, and it is the fastest way to lose messaging or the account.

5. Plans, trial and payment

  • Trial. Creating an account starts a 14 day trial with full Pro features. We do not ask for a card to start it, we hold no card while it runs, and no charge happens by itself at any point. To continue on a paid plan you choose the plan and the billing interval in billing settings and complete Stripe checkout. Whole trial days you have left are carried into that subscription, so the first charge lands when they run out rather than on the day you paid. If the 14 days pass and you have not subscribed, you are not charged and nothing of yours is deleted; we may ask you to subscribe and may pause the account under the suspension right in section 7, but there is no automatic charge waiting to catch you out.
  • Billing. Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. Annual billing takes two months off the monthly rate. Prices are shown before you pay. Where sales tax or VAT applies, Stripe Tax calculates it and it is added to the amount.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades and switches between monthly and annual take effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
  • SMS credits. Text messages are billed separately from your plan as one-time credit packs, currently 500 outbound segments for $10. One credit covers one outbound segment. Inbound messages are free. Credits do not expire.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. If it keeps failing, the account is locked: your data stays visible and exportable, but sends, widget bookings and other changes stop. Updating the card and paying the outstanding invoice unlocks it immediately.
  • Refunds. Your first subscription payment on any plan carries a 30 day money-back guarantee. The full rules are in the refund policy.

6. The price you keep

Your price never goes up while you stay subscribed. This is a binding commitment, not a policy we can quietly revise. If we raise our list prices, the increase applies to new subscriptions. Yours stays at the price you signed up at, for as long as your subscription stays active without a lapse.

Three honest edges to that promise:

  • If you switch to a different plan, you pay the current price of the plan you switch to. The plan you are on today never has its price raised on you.
  • If you cancel and come back later, checkout offers the price in force on the day you return, because a canceled subscription is not resumed but replaced. Coming back inside the 90 day read-only window, your old price still stands: email support@broomdesk.com before you subscribe and we put you back on it. Your data comes back either way.
  • The promise covers your subscription price. It does not cover SMS credit pack pricing, which follows carrier costs, and it does not cover taxes.

7. Cancellation, and what happens to your data

  • You can cancel at any time from billing settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not ask you to call anyone.
  • When the period ends, the account becomes read-only. Everything stays visible and the exports keep working, but nothing sends and no new bookings are accepted. That state lasts at least 90 days.
  • Subscribing again within those 90 days restores the account in full, and your original price on request as described in section 6.
  • Deleting your organisation's data is something we do when you ask for it, within 30 days of the request, and it is permanent. We do not run an automatic purge on day 91, so if you want the data gone at the end of the 90 days, say so and it will be. Anonymised financial records are kept where accounting law requires them, and messaging consent records are kept as evidence as described in the privacy policy.
  • Getting your data out: the app exports your clients, your visits, your invoices and each payroll period as CSV. Every plan gets all of them, and they keep working while the account is read-only, because that is the point of the window. For anything outside those files, photos and message threads included, ask us at support@broomdesk.com and we produce a full copy.

We can suspend or close an account for non-payment, for a breach of the acceptable use policy, or where continuing would put recipients, other customers or the platform at real risk. Except where the risk requires acting first, we tell you at the account email and give you a chance to fix it.

8. Payments from your clients

Card payments from your clients run through your own Stripe account connected via Stripe Connect. The money goes to you. We never take custody of it, and we currently take no percentage of it. Stripe's own agreement governs that account and Stripe decides matters like payouts, disputes and reserves.

Refunds to your clients are issued by you from the payment record in the app, on your own terms. Tax on your invoices to your clients is yours to get right: BroomDesk applies the rates you configure and does not calculate them for you.

9. Messaging, consent and the money at stake

You are the sender of record for every message sent to your clients through BroomDesk, including SMS and email. We provide the pipes, the consent records and the opt-out handling. The decision to message a person, and the consent behind it, is yours.

  • You confirm you have the consent the law requires for every contact you message, including contacts you import from another system. When you import a list you are asked to attest that consent exists, and that attestation is logged.
  • Marketing texts need express written opt-in that you can evidence. Service texts about a booked job rely on the disclosure shown at booking.
  • The platform honours STOP for you, across every text sent from your number, including service messages. Working around an opt-out, by any route, is a serious breach.
  • The exposure is real. Under the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act, statutory damages run from $500 to $1,500 per violating message, and claims are typically brought for whole campaigns rather than single texts. A list of a few thousand contacts messaged without consent is a claim in the millions.
  • Indemnity. You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, fines and reasonable legal costs arising from messages you sent, the consent you claimed to have, contact lists you uploaded, or your breach of the acceptable use policy. This survives the end of this agreement.

The SMS policy describes how consent, opt-out and message types actually work in the product.

10. Your data and ours

You keep all rights in the data you and your clients put into BroomDesk. You give us the permission we need to host it, process it, and send the messages you trigger, for as long as we provide the service to you. For personal data about your clients and workers, you are the controller and we are the processor: see the data processing addendum.

We keep all rights in the software, the design and the brand. Feedback you send us we may use freely. We may count your usage in anonymous, aggregated statistics that identify neither you nor your clients.

11. Warranties and limitation of liability

The service is provided as it is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted operation.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims in aggregate is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, lost bookings or lost data where a working export was available to you, or for what your business does toward your clients and workers.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and any statutory rights you have that cannot be waived.

12. Changes to these terms

We can update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to the account owner at least 14 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. If a change does not suit you, cancel before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.

13. Governing law

Romanian law governs this agreement, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the courts with jurisdiction over the registered seat of Amortoae Petru PFA (CUI 52361814) in Romania.

There is no arbitration clause in this agreement and no class action waiver. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, this section does not take that right away.

14. Odds and ends

  • If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • Not enforcing something once does not waive it for the future.
  • You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it to a buyer of the business, and we will tell account owners by email if that happens.
  • These terms, together with the acceptable use policy, the privacy policy, the SMS policy, the refund policy and the data processing addendum, are the whole agreement between us.
